Clipsal 500 Weekend - Crashes, Accidents & Breakdown

Big Kev would not be excited over Paul Morris' crash during Friday's practice session!

Very early in Friday's first practice session, Steven Richards' Ford was smoking badly on the front straight.

When he stopped, the smoke died down from the back and was coming from the engine bay.

Marshalls push Steven Richards' Ford back to the pits instead of getting a tow truck as he is not far away.

Formula Holden driver Alan Gurr comes up to a slow halt. The red flag is flying in the background in relation to an earlier accident.......

The driver hops out of the car and I am none the wiser at this stage to the problem. It turns out that this stoppage was due to a severed brakeline after running over accident debris earlier in the lap......

The car is towed away by a tow truck.

I caught the tail end of this crash by Marcus Ambrose in the Pirtek Ford in Pit Straight......

The car comes to a halt a little shorter in the nose than before.......

Ambrose is out of the car and examines the damage to his car.

The car is pushed to the pits by marshalls. It was in a similar spot to Steven Richards' problem (see above)...

It's hard to see the damage with the marshalls in the way!

Is there a tow truck shortage? Car 26 in the GTP Series is towed from pit lane.

There must be! Car 10 in the Nations Cup is towed from pit lane.

Paul Radisich's battered Falcon returns to the battle that was race two.
